Our goods and chattels and furniture are now packed, stacked and racked, safely stored away and will remain so until we finish travelling around Australia.
Finally we have accomplished what I thought was the insurmountable a couple of months ago and, I must say, done so without using self-storage. We have placed our possessions into permanent, secure storage with Grace Removals Group and we are very happy with both their service, and their price.
We packed everything, and they arrived just after lunch time today, catalogued everything and took it all away. At their warehouse, everything will be placed into modular household containers and stored safe and secure, free from the effects of the weather such as dust and damp.
For the same cost of storing only boxed items at a self-storage facility, I’m pleased that we have been able to store all of our furniture as well and extremely happy that we didn’t have to play the “Furniture Selling Game” again.
I find it heartbreaking that interested buyers (usually) expect to pay nothing for items you are trying to sell no matter their age or condition.
More importantly though, when we return from our travels, we won’t have to turn around and buy furniture (again).
