Corindi Beach – Part 1

Thoughts on Location No 6

Corindi Beach, Mid North Coast, New South Wales

When in paradise, why would you want to move somewhere else?

We’ve been at Corindi Beach for the last ten days and will stay here until we are due to be at Emerald Beach for Christmas.

We are staying in a caravan park that is part of the North Coast Holiday Park chain and are amazed at just how nice it really is, particularly considering this park belongs to the same chain as the one we stayed at in Ballina.

There are generous powered slab sites, but given they are close to the office and near the main traffic thoroughfare (yes I realise what I just said), we decided to stay on the other side of the park on a powered grass site.  The site is very generous and this entire area is like a little slice of heaven, very peaceful and nice and quiet.

The park doesn’t contain anything geared towards the entertainment of children, although there are swings and a playground area in the Corindi Reserve adjacent to the park.

We wake each morning to the sound of the birds singing their praise to the glory of a new day and relax each evening watching the kangaroos who hop over the fence to feed on the grass each evening.KangaroosTwo of life’s little luxuries that are not afforded when you choose to live so close to the heart of the city as we had done so in Brisbane for the last two years.

Much like Yamba, this really is a lovely quiet area and we are very pleased that we can stay on for another eight days.

Footnote: With Emerald Beach only 18 kilometres down the road, it feels like we shouldn’t be ‘here’ so soon, but I have to remind myself that we actually set off on our trip sooner than originally planned and we booked and paid for a week at the Big4 Emerald Beach Holiday Park months ago – back in July actually.
