The Pastry Chef and the Business Man

On a quiet little street, in a quiet little town, there stood a little patisserie for sale and one day, a pastry chef purchased the little patisserie.

The pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie was very pleased and loved the little patisserie he purchased and he worked very hard beating and whipping and baking and icing because the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie wanted to earn a reputation for his little patisserie as the best patisserie ever purchased by a pastry chef.

But this is not a story about the little patisserie, this is a story about the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie and the very official-looking business man who wanted to buy the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been.

– Chapter One –

One day, while the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie was working very hard beating and whipping and baking and icing and applying a double dollop of delicious delight to a spectacular slice of sponge cake, the little doorbell jingled as a very official-looking business man stepped into the little patisserie purchased by the pastry chef.

The very official-looking business man looked around and said with his big, booming voice, “I want a cake for my wife’s birthday and I want this cake to be the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been.

“Can you do that?”

“I most certainly can,” said the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie.

“Good,” said the very official-looking business man.  “I’ll be back tomorrow.”

And before the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie could get any more details about the type of cake the very official-looking business man wanted for his wife’s birthday, the very official-looking business man spun upon his heels and the little doorbell jingled as the very official-looking business man walked out of the little patisserie purchased by the pastry chef.

  1. Thank you Helen,

Everyone sees something different and relates to the story in a different way, with many a varied morals, but i like yours. I may have to creat a page of suggested morals so everyone can read what other’s had to say.

    Glad you enjoyed the story.
