I pray the fog to cover me,
And blanket me with warmth.
And flow across my stubborn head,
To drag me back to earth.

Too long my head has wondered free,
And not known where it’s at.
Too long my heart has been a rock,
Ignoring all that’s that.

I pray the fog wash over me,
Imbue me with your peace.
Flow up across and blind my eyes,
Allow me some release.

Too long I’ve seen things I should not,
Hard things that make me sad.
Too long I’ve stood as hurts compound,
And long for what I had.

I pray the fog to shelter me,
Give to me your haven.
I need your fingers near my soul,
Today I may be craven.

Too long I’ve prayed for peace to come,
For silence pure and golden.
Too long I’ve dreamed that I might be,
All the more beholden.

I pray the fog wrap over me,
Provide me fortitude.
I pray the fog come cover me,
Afford me solitude.
