Horses and humans all like to wear shoes,
A fact that may never be said on the news.
But think for a moment, that if a tree should,
What type of fine shoes would he wear if he could?
Would he wear heels of a high mighty height?
Or would he don those of spectacular sight?
What if he could wear soft leather loafers,
And lay back and rest upon soft mossy sofas.
Or what about pumps or slippers or clogs?
Or big rubber wellies to keep out the bog?
Let’s not forget about sneakers and boots,
Or shiny black lace ups for under his suits.
For days that are hot, and just to look cool.
Perhaps it’s the flip-flops that simply must rule?
Maybe perhaps you might think that it’s wrong,
‘Cause a tree is so stoic, smooth, straight, and strong.
But I swear to you now, this is not a ruse . . .
For trees love to wear . . .
Fine furry green shoes.
This is my entry for this week’s Treasured Tuesday Tidbits.
