Hornby Lighthouse, Sydney
Hornby Lighthouse, Sydney

There was something about this lighthouse that struck me as we sailed past on our way to Manly aboard the ferry.Β  It reminded me of the Mersey Bluff Lighthouse in Devonport, Tasmania.

While reviewing all the photos I took during our three days in Sydney, there was something about this image that struck me also.

I’d been playing with the setting on my camera and taken the shot using the ‘miniature’ artistic effect and I think the resulting image of the Hornby Lighthouse is so cute.

  1. It DOES appear quite toy-like. And somewhat like it popped right off the set from the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I love it. I hope I have the chance to one day see it up close and personal.
Such a happy site to come upon as you make your merry way round.

    1. Hey Shelley,

πŸ˜€ it does look like it fell from the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie set. Such a lovely little lighthouse. I think I have to start photographing more lighthouses.

    1. Hi Calen,

The ‘miniture’ effect adds depth and blur making the image look slightly Lilliputian, giving it almost toy like quality. Click here to see some examples on Google. I think I missed the primary objective, but can see how it changed the image slightly giving it a very nice quality. I hope that makes sense.
