This weeks Photo of the Week was taken Sunday
(October 11, 2015)

I’d like to say I photographed this famous little flower in the desert somewhere, but I have to be honest and confess I was at the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden on the north side of Port Augusta.
I had a sneaky feeling, even as we do venture north into the desert, that the wildflower season is long gone. So while Dean sat and enjoyed the ‘big race‘, I took myself off the enjoy a walk around the gardens, with the hope that I would see the Sturt’s Desert Pea.
It was the last flower I saw as I was leaving and thank goodness I turned left instead of right.
This picture grabbed me and I had to stop and read all about it! WOW! What a cool little thing. Love it.

And we’ve been in the arid lands for a week now and no sign of one. I’m so glad I saw it at the botanic gardens.
