The Red Rock and The Red Rainbow

Uluru Sunset

Yesterday I posted a photo of Uluru at sunrise, today it’s a photo taken at sunset.  We were a little disappointed with the advent of rain, but the rainbow that followed made it all worthwhile.

Uluru Sunset

It was difficult to capture all the rainbow as it was very large, reaching extremely high into the sky, and red was the predominant colour the really popped.  It really was amazing to see.  It arches from behind the bush on the left, up (and out of shot), and down behind the right side of Uluru.

We’ll head off to the viewing area again tomorrow evening and (fingers crossed), perhaps this time there’ll be clear skies for a true red sunset.

  1. A rainbow in those wide open skies is always a joyous sight. Thank You for the glass of wine. I enjoyed my stay and… not to worry I will be back to help you finish the bottle! 😉

I'd love to hear your thoughts . . .
