Today marks one year of posting a Photo of the Week each Monday morning.
That’s right – 52 weeks of selecting an image worthy of that prestigious title from the (absolute) plethora of images taken during the previous week.
Granted there was one week where I almost forgot and posted on Tuesday (or Wednesday), a couple of occasions where the photo wasn’t taken sometime during the past seven days, and one week where my chosen photo wouldn’t upload and I was reduced to sharing something I’d already included elsewhere – BUT all in all, each Monday morning I’ve shared a photo that I’ve selected for one reason or another.
To celebrate this (I’m going to call it ‘incredible’) milestone, I’ve decided to share with you a selection of images that didn’t make the cut and the lessons I’ve learnt along the way. Each image has been titled and date to correspond with the photo that WAS selected. Click any image in each group to view larger – if you’re game – but most importantly, enjoy and have a little giggle at my expense.

1. Focus is really important.
2. Patience is equally as important.
3. The birds and the bees (and a few boomers*) don’t like to cooperate.
4. There are days when even the plants won’t cooperate.
5. Sometimes you need to look at your subject from a different angle.
(And finally)
6. At the end of the day, some photos that didn’t make the cut aren’t all that bad.

The last year has really kept me on my toes and I’ve had so much fun filtering through our photos, selecting the perfect candidate for Photo of the Week.
Not every image selected was taken by me . . . And, as you can see . . .

I’m not the only one who needs to pay closer attention before clicking.
Enjoyed looking at the 2nd runner ups! Neat post!
