Sunset in Mount Isa
Cloud pattern captured during sunset – Mount Isa, Queensland

During our short stay in Mount Isa, we were told to visit the Mount Isa Lookout at dusk to see the city as the day turned into night.  The lookout is a relatively small hill in the centre of town that has a small parking area and picnic tables where you can relax and enjoy a meal.  But it also has a viewing platform looking west, where you can see the city from a completely different perspective.

Certainly Mount Isa it took on a whole new look.  (See the featured image in Hello Qld).

But while we stood there watching the sunset, gazing towards the mine with smoke billowing from one of the stacks, I noticed an unusual pattern in the clouds just off to the north.

Let me know what you think it looks like because I’m not sure what it resembles.

  1. Another great photo – perhaps a serpent weaving through the ski, perhaps an upside-down river, perhaps another of Gods creations. Enjoy!!
