Thursday I wrote about Castle Hill and shared images of the view from top of Townsville’s iconic landmark. Today I’m sharing a photo of Townsville’s other landmark – Mount Stuart. At its highest point it towers to 584 metres (1,916 feet) and overlooks the city from the south with its summit dominated by television transmission towers.
It’s impossible to get lost in Townsville with Castle Hill on one side, and Mount Stuart on the other.
Dean and I are going for a drive to the top of Mount Stuart today. I’ve only ever been up there once that I can remember but I believe there’s a nice walking track that runs around the summit providing gorgeous views of Townsville that you cannot see from the top of Castle Hill, including Ross River and the Ross River Dam.
I’m looking forward to seeing the city from a different perspective.
