Dean and I visited our block of land yesterday to see how the house was progressing. We are getting really excited with the framework all but completed now.
The gutters and contrasting fascias look wonderful. I can hardly wait to see the roof in place and the brickwork starting to come together. As I’ve said before, I’ve been photographing the house weekly, so here’s a selection of the images I took yesterday.
As there were no workers onsite at the time, we walked around our home, giving it a wide clearance, and it was so funny to stand outside pointing to where a bathroom will be, where the kitchen is and then look at the master bedroom and comment “Oh, the bedroom looks small!”
My girlfriend told me the entire house would look small at this stage, so now we are eagerly anticipating the next stage, or the one after that, when we stand inside looking out and are able to then say “Wow, this bedroom is big!”
They look smaller when they’re just framed in than they do when the walls are up. We watched ours being built from the ground up, too. It was a cool experience.

We’re surprised at just ‘how small’ it looked.

We are just starting the process of building our new home as well. Looking forward to following your journey.

How lovely Ms Prez, and I love your house plans. I hope your journey is as wonderful as ours has been so far, though we’ve left a lot of the ‘hard work’ in the hands of our building company.

The excitement builds (pardon the pun) every time we go to sneak a peek.

When taking my daughter to Kindy I used to get my husband to drop us off beyond the house we’d just signed up for just so I could walk back past it. 🙂
