Of all the myriad colours that Crucifix Orchids come in, I’m wrapped that my first orchid to flower is a colour true to my heart.
I don’t remember who gave me this plant, whether it was my friend Denise, or my friend Sue, (deep down inside, I do think it was Sue), but I couldn’t be more delighted with the gorgeous colour it just so happens to be.
Yes, purple is my favourite colour. It has been for a very long time, long before it was made fashionable by some fashionista famous for being famous.
Ok, someone made it popular long before I was born, but I was on the purple band wagon long before it came back into vogue in recent times. I can remember that I treasured my purple colouring in pencil when I was in grade one at school, so much so, I would only use it for ‘special’ areas of a page, only special flowers were coloured purple. It ended up being the tallest pencil in my case, and when it came time to get a new set of pencils, I would end up with two purple pencils to treasure.
My current treasure trove consists of purple pens, note books, glasses, phone case, purses, handbags, shirts, shorts, jumpers, scarves. Ok, you get the idea.
But rest assured, purple is not the only colour I wear.
