Over the last six weeks, I’ve neglected my garden. It makes me sad that it has come to this, but it has.
It’s amazing how difficult I have found everyday tasks with my (dominant) right hand in plaster. Yes, even watering my plants is a job I’ve needed assistance with because Dean (AKA Santa) gave me a retracting hose for Christmas, and I can neither pull it out nor put it back, one-handed. Just as well we’ve had lots of rain and my garden is almost looking after itself.
Today, I ventured out to take some photos of the flowers that are blooming. Not such an easy task, but thankfully you only get to see the results of me fighting with my camera.
Each one makes me smile because they were either a precious gift or a treasured cutting that friends have given me. Even this unusual plant is both a gift and currently flowering.

I find it very therapeutic watering plants, even one-handed, and the results well worth the attention.
Yesterday marked six weeks since I fell and fractured my radius, but this hardened bandage that immobilises it doesn’t come off until Tuesday next week. Fingers crossed, it comes off and stays off.
