Christmas Jelly Beans

I remember when I posted photos of my Pink Jelly Beans for Becky’s ‘In the Pink’ Square in September photo challenge.  Becky was so surprised to discover exactly what those pink jelly beans were and remembering her reaction makes me smile.

I expect her reaction may be (a little) similar today.

This is Sedum rubrotinctum.

This is the Red Jelly Bean plant and the natural colour of this variety.  I have it positioned where it received a little morning sunlight, and perhaps a little more again, but not until late afternoon.  The rest of the time it is in complete shade.

Another section of the same plant that received a little less sunlight.  It’s a deeper red and a darker green.

Look at those perfect Christmas colours.

It just goes to show, even Stonecrop plants can get into the festive spirit.
