When this orchid finished flowering months ago, for some reason – and I have no idea what reason – I didn’t remove the flower stalk.
I think I was waiting for it to die, but inevitably, it didn’t die and therefore, I didn’t remove it.
I’m now very pleased I didn’t take to it with a set of scissors as a new stalk has emerged from the original stalk, producing a new set of blooms.
I’m not very good at growing orchids, so you can imagine how thrilled I am to have these beauties in my bedroom at the moment.

This is one of two orchids I have in our bedroom, one on each bedside table, and the other (which is on my side of the bed) also has a bud emerging from its original flower stalk.
I’ll never be in a hurry to remove stalks again π
