This is Wonderful

In case you missed it, here’s a link to a wonderful little Google Doodle.

The big bonus is the doodle is narrated by Michael (Mike) Collins, the astronaut who stayed in the command module while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked upon the Moon.

Just click that funny little square in the bottom right-hand corner . . .  . . . to enter full-screen mode and sit back and enjoy the show.

I love that Mike Collins starts by saying “Fifty years ago, I went on an adventure.”

It brings a tear to the eye.

But the following is (perhaps) not so wonderful.

This is the result of not holding my camera still.

This photo was taken December 5, 2017

I admit getting it wrong doesn’t happen often – once in a Blue Moon maybe 🙂 – but although I do own a tripod (technically, my husband owns it), I’m yet to start using it.

This does mean, all the photos of the Moon I’ve been sharing have been taken while holding my ‘point and click’ camera.  Possibly that warrants being wonderful and, even though the above image isn’t perfect, I still like it.

This is my next entry in my Blue Moon Squares as part of Becky’s ‘Blue’ Square in July photo challenge.

  1. I loved watching many of the shows about the moonwalk!

Your pictures of the moon are fabulous! I have enjoyed each and every one. I do have to settle my camera when taking it if it’s high. If it’s low in the sky… I can point and shoot.

    1. Thank you, Nancy. I sometimes think my photos are silly (even immature) but I can see improvements in the images over the past few years. Your comments make me smile – thank you so much 😊

    1. It is wonderful isn’t it? I loved that they had Mike Collins narrate it. I think that made it all the more special. And I am certainly getting better at holding my camera still.

  2. Oh thank you for sharing that (long!) Doodle! Marvellous! I missed it, having been on vacation last week and not feeling much need for Googling. 😉 I always remember the dates because they took off on my birthday (16 July) and landed on my mother’s. (20 July) Apparently we all watched the landing on TV but I was too young to remember that.

      1. So far one of my favorite recent doodles was the Bach interactive one- omg was it awesome – and then the PH scale – so hard to pick favs – and glad we don’t have too-
And again – your point and shoot 📸 delivers some gems for you – And the moon is a moody subject for sure
