I’ve not had time to join Cee for her Flower of the Day photo challenge for some time now as work has been hectic, to say the least.
But today, when we arrived home from work, I noticed the following little flower.
It made my day.

I had purchased a six-pack punnet of seedlings and planted them at the base of the tree on our footpath. They have been somewhat neglected, receiving a little bit of water every now and then – but I must add, we have had some rain over the past couple of weeks.
It’s barely above the ground level, has had to ‘weather’ the accidental dousing of concrete slurry, and unbearable heat just 48 hours ago. But there it is and although it looks like a lonely little petunia in an onion patch, it’s adding the splash of colour I was after and (I’ve no doubt) it will be surrounded by other Gazanias before too long.
