I’m thrilled to finally see the first flower on my Black Bat Plant for this season.

I traumatised this plant so much by breaking it up and repotting it that I thought it would not flower at all. The two plants I separated from the main were placed/planted in the (mini) understory of my garden – one died, but the other is thriving, although there’s no sign of blooms on it yet. I guess I shall have to be more patient.

It’s so rewarding to revive a plant. It looks very healthy, but it looks so tangled up. Is that normal?

Yes, that is normal. As it opens all those tendrils come out and untangle, eventually becoming long and whisker-like on either side of the flower.

I’m so pleased, otherwise, I’d have to buy a new one. Me, spending money on plants – that’s unusual 😂😂😂
