Funniest Plant Ever

And yet, an appropriate addition to my garden.

Excoecaria cochinchinensis is also know as Chinese croton, blindness tree, buta buta and the jungle fire plant. But I’m sure I will forever refer to it as my Garden Clown 🤡

It is so stunning with its unusual leaves. The upper surface is green or variegated.

While the underside of the leaves is a deep red (or maroon).

I couldn’t walk past it in the nursery and plan to place it in a hanging basket.

I’ve no doubt it will be a stunner.
