With Anzac Day (April 25) just around the corner, I was/am feeling nostalgic and wanted to use a photo of my RSL Spirit of the Anzac Grevillea on my desktop.
This is easier said than done because this is the same plant where I often catch bees buzzing and I had selected one such photo to be the icon for this challenge (see below). Therefore, in order to steer away from (what I consider to be) the best photo I’ve ever taken of this Grevillea, I had to do a fair amount of digging into my archives.
Luckily, I do take many photos of my RSL Spirit of the Anzac Grevillea because, besides attracting bees, it’s also a bird magnet. I just had to decide.
So here’s the photo I chose 💮

This is a Scarlet Honeyeater who often visits our garden, hiding in these flowers that match his plumage, providing him with camouflage from larger birds of prey.
Here’s a closer shot.

We don’t see enough of this little guy, but we do often see all the girls in his harem. They don’t have this striking red colouring.
