Desktop Delights – June 2021

There have been some amazing desktops shared this month. A huge thank you to everyone who joined me, I’m still thrilled that you do so.

By all means take a look at the wonderful desktop delights they’ve shared.

First things first. Becky pointed me towards another entry for May. It comes from Marilyn who shared a gorgeous photo of a river bend with evening approaching. Welcome Marilyn, I hope to see you here again.

And now on to the desktops shared in June:

Brian was first up this month with a lovely photo of (what he deems to be) his sad Nectarine Tree – although the stingless native bees and I disagree with him.

Cee, the Queen of flower photography (and all sorts of photography for that matter) shared a gorgeous image of a Sunflower just opening up with a close up view of all the little hairs that exist on the sepals.

Self’s desktop image is photo of her Dearest Mum seated at her beloved piano and wearing traditional Filipino formal attire. It’s a lovely photo and Self also shared a poignant tale about her mum. (Do follow the link to read it.)

Dennyho shared a lovely image and associated story of a sunset at Holden Beach, North Carolina. Thanx, Dennho, for joining in and sharing.

Martin returned to the virtual world again this month with another life like image, this time of a DAF F241 Truck. He did admit that ‘in the real world, these trucks are almost entirely a thing of the past’.

Aletta shared a photo of Snow on Mount Ruapehu, New Zealand, because she’s missing her son and his family who live there. Hopefully we can all reunite with family and loved ones soon.

There is a lovely seaside image shared by Sassy. She took the image at Oceanside in Oregon but to be honest, it looks like a lot of seasides in many places around Australia.

After a few weeks reprieve from blogging, Becky shared a photo of a fine fellow, No 1818 – a gorgeous holstein – who will spend the next month providing Becky with a reminder about her July Squares. (I’ll have something more to say about that soon.)

And finally, Ladysighs shared a couple of phoenix wallpapers and a lovely haiku written by (Lady’s) blogging friend scifihammy.

I have no actually desktop image this month. Nor do I have a selection of ‘candidates’ that ‘didn’t make the cut’, but I do have a comment on my SYD post from Becky that I wanted to share.

You’re going to find it tough to change this one.

My current desktop.

Never a truer word was spoken. I love this photo and have relished looking at it everyday.

Here is another photo from the total lunar eclipse of May 26 (2021) that I could easily have chosen because it also makes a wonderful desktop image.

Approx. one hour past totality.

However . . .

. . . July looms and, being my birthday month, I’ve already started seeking a photo of something special featuring my favourite colour and look forward to sharing what I select.
