Clare – great start to this challenge and the idea of purple clouds looming above must feel wonderful to be around
I planted a Jacaranda in the back garden of a home we owned more than 30 years ago and I’d like to think that’s what it looks like now. These days, my back garden isn’t big enough, but I do have one in a pot and I’m looking forward to it flowering in October.
They’re one of my favourite trees. We don’t have them here, so have to wait until we’re in Portugal to be delighted by them. Hope we get to see yours in its pot
Ahhh I did wonder as thought I’d read somewhere they were from south america. Can understand the concerns, we have similar problems with rhododendrons.

We used to live in Brisbane where they put on a stunning display and completely transform the city skyline.

We have so many here they are like purple clouds when they bloom, and I’ll try to include my ‘baby’ before the end of the month 🥰

How wonderful. Are they endemic to Australia?

Yes, but unfortunately not native and some councils are clamping down on them. It’s sad from both perspectives.
