What do people incorrectly assume about you?

–⋅ o ♥ o ⋅–
Tough question and the first thought that comes to mind is:
What other people think of me is none of my business*.
It took me a long time to learn this lesson, but I did so as I got older.
And, to be perfectly honest, I don’t have anything else to say on the matter.

* I’m not sure who said that as I can find references to Eleanor Roosevelt, Gary Oldman, Dr Wayne W Dyer and RuPaul, although I think the latter three are borrowing from Eleanor.
Let me know if you can clarify the owner of these wise words.

‘Twas the first thing that popped into my head, and the first principle I live by – these days. Just wish I’d have learnt this lesson when I was younger.

I wish I’d learnt it earlier too.

I believe, having learnt it (even now) is better than having not learnt it at all.

A great answer from Clare. ‘What other people think of me is none of my business.’

That’s a really good answer and worth pointing out. We can spend far too much energy worrying about what others think of us when there is no need to.

Thank you, Jake. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to learn this lesson as a child and keep it close as we become adults?

I thought Clare had the best answer to today bloganuary question “What do people incorrectly assume about you?”.
One thing I know too is, I probably would guess wrong.

I’ve worked hard to ignore what other people may or may not think of me. I so adore your response. 😀 😀 You said it perfectly.

Same here. It took me a long time to do so as well and I am all the more so happier for it – and a much happier person 🥰
