I thought there was something wrong with my Anthurium.
It looked odd, reminding me of Gonzo’s nose.

And it only got worse.

It got so bad, I let my fingers do the walking and looked it up on Google.

As it turns out, these are seeds. Yeah!
Alas, my attempts at propagating them were fruitless. It’s much easier to simply take a cutting or wait for little ones to start growing around the base.

This is my next entry in Becky’s February Squares Photo Challenge – Odd Squares.
Looks like an odd pineapple of sorts.

I’ve had a few appear and have been unsuccessful with my attempts to germinate the seeds.

Maybe the seedpods need special treatment first? Many plants in England need a frost or something similar to get going

I thought I treated them, but (obviously) I mistreated them. I have another going to seed so I’m going to try again 🥰

Fantastic you’re having another go. Maybe the first seeds were just being difficult!!

What unique colors on this flower. Definitely an odd one. 😀 😀 Love the “nose” aspect.

This Anthurium is called Black Queen – it’s a beautiful deep burgundy – and I have propagated a baby from it already 🥰
