The Pastry Chef and the Business Man

– Chapter Three –

The pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie was very sad because he always worked so hard beating and whipping and baking and icing because he wanted to earn a reputation for his little patisserie as the best patisserie ever purchased by a pastry chef.

The pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie was very sad the very official-looking business man was offended because the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been was – well – not the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been, but because he still wanted to earn a reputation for his little patisserie as the best patisserie ever purchased by a pastry chef, the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie quickly went about making another cake.

The pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie worked through most of the night, beating and whipping and baking and icing and making a new cake that was – well – almost the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been and in the morning he was ready to sell a new cake to the very official-looking business man.

Again at 9:00 am sharp, the little doorbell jingled as the very official-looking business man stepped into the little patisserie purchased by the pastry chef.

“Here is (and he almost said ‘almost’) the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been,” said the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie.

“It’s a double-decker, triple-layered chocolate cake with royal icing and delicate detail for wishing your wife a brilliant birthday.”

“Oh no, that won’t do,” said the very official-looking business man with his big, booming voice.

“My wife’s favourite colour is pink!

“Make it again, I’ll be back tomorrow.”

And with that, he spun upon his heels and the little doorbell jingled as the very official-looking business man walked out of the little patisserie purchased by the pastry chef.
