Awards
The Liebster Award

This award is bestowed upon fledgling bloggers by other bloggers and was created as a way to discover and recognise those of us who are new to the world of blogging.
In other words, and in my opinion, it’s geared at assisting a new blogger with building their community and attracting followers, and, a lovely way for another blogger to say:
“Welcome to the neighbourhood.”
Thank you, Lori Smith Schaefer, for nominating my blog.

The Creative Blogger Award

I must say, there’s a certain element of ‘buzz’ when a fellow blogger recognises your writing, ramblings and eclectic thoughts and then rewards you for it.
It gives me a fuzzy feeling and helps me realise that perhaps (or perhaps maybe) I’m doing something right, appealing to the readers I’ve attracted out there in the cyber world of blogging. It’s a way for another blogger to say:
“You’re doing a great job!”
Thank you, Author S B Mazing, for nominating me.

The Versatile Blogger Award

This award is bestowed upon bloggers who bring ‘something special’ to the world of blogging; a heightened level of enjoyment, a unique perspective, and a love of writing that comes across in their written words.
There’s more than a feeling of satisfaction associated with being recognised for encompassing elements of versatility in my thoughts and I appreciate another blogger saying:
“I admire your work.”
Thank you, The Mission to Mars, for the nomination.

Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award

It can be very humbling when a fellow blogger rewards you for your efforts and without a doubt, this amazing award arrived accompanied by a wonderful surprise.
Recognition as opposed to a nomination.*
Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award recognises the unique voices of women bloggers around the world.
Thank you, Hilary, at Japan Can(ada) Mix for hearing my unique voice and passing this award my way.

* Receiving a blogging award normally arrives as a nomination, requiring the ‘nominated’ blogger to follow through and pass the award along to other bloggers. In this case, Hilary specifically mentioned recognition of efforts, highlighting a few blogs she likes. Click here to read what Hilary had to say.
Accolades
I’m still waiting to receive an accolade for my blog. One day perhaps while I continue to believe I’m doing something correct and noteworthy here.
In the meantime, I nominate myself for:
The Most Outstanding Wife Award
“Oh my, I don’t know what to say, this comes as such a surprise.
I humbly accept this award and know that I have more than adequately earnt this honour after putting up with my husband’s antics for the last 30 years.
I’d like to thank my daughters who gave me the strength to keep going when the waters got rough, my friends for helping me keep my head above the water, and last by not least, I’d like to thank my husband for throwing me a life jacket and making every day an adventure.”

These are badges from WordPress free online courses designed to help fledgling bloggers find their way, learn the WordPress environment, and connect with other bloggers.
Each course allowed me to take the little knowledge I had and expand it beyond the ordinary every day. I was also able to redesign my blog and connect with others who I now consider to be my “Blogger Friends”. I really enjoyed attending these courses and learning more about WordPress and blogging in general. I thoroughly recommend them to anyone else struggling to ‘find their way’.
Congratulations
